The
purpose of emergencyphoto.com is simple - to provide a glimpse into the
extraordinary working world of the men and women that have chosen to
dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities. Their
daily efforts, often unheralded, touch all of us, even if we don't
realize it. It is my sincere hope that all of those that serve in fire
departments worldwide will see these photos as my tribute to their
dedication, bravery and heroism. It is the least I can do.
Craig Allyn Rose began his photography career over two decades ago when
he realized that there was a way to freeze a moment in time through the
photographic process.
From early efforts to capture scenes using a Polaroid instant camera,
to taking detailed images of wildlife in the Alaska wilderness, Rose is
continually amazed by the infinite possibilities for both viewer and
photographer when practicing the art of capturing light.
Since his early experimentation, Rose has gone on to capture and
publish numerous prize-winning images that have included subjects
ranging from intense summer wildfires and cold Paris evenings, to the
grandeur of Norway's fjords and California's coastline.
In addition to environmental and nature-related topics, Rose also has a
fascination for transportation themes including aircraft and railroad
subjects. His other photographic interests include travel, sports,
wildlife and urban landscapes. His images have appeared in a wide
variety of publications, both print and web-based, ranging from the San Jose Mercury News and Firehouse.com, to Fire Firerescue1.com and Fire Engineering Magazine.
Currently
Rose provides photographic services to the City of San Jose Fire
Department, the Santa Clara County Fire Department and the City of
Santa Clara Fire Department.
Rose was born in
Novato, California and now makes his home in Santa Clara, California,
the heart of the Silicon Valley.
